For parents.
Everything you need to know about safety, privacy, terms, and how BrightKid fits into your family's day.
Designed for the moments you're busy.
The real test of a kids' app isn't what happens when you're watching. It's what happens when you're making dinner.
BrightKid is built to finish its own lessons, redirect when your child gets distracted, and report back to you so the parenting happens at parent pace.
Built around your child's privacy.
BrightKid is designed from the ground up to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and broader children's privacy best practices.
Verified parental consent
A parent or guardian sets up every account. Children never sign themselves up.
No data sold or shared
We don't sell, rent, or share your child's data with advertisers, analytics brokers, or anyone else.
No ads, ever
No third-party ads inside BrightKid. No upsells to children. No dark patterns of any kind.
You're in control
You can review or delete your child's data at any time from the parent dashboard.
Parent questions, answered.
Is BrightKid really voice-only?
Yes. Children listen to Arlo, watch him on screen, and respond by speaking or tapping simple visual answers. No reading is required, which makes BrightKid usable for kids as young as 1 year old.
How much screen time does it use?
Sessions are intentionally short and age-adaptive: 5 minutes for ages 1-2, 8 minutes for age 3, 10 minutes for age 4, and up to 12 minutes for age 5. The app naturally finishes its lessons rather than encouraging endless play.
What languages does Arlo speak?
English and Spanish, with native pronunciation in both. You can switch languages anytime. Arlo can even introduce Spanish words inside English lessons for bilingual exposure.
Can I see what my child is learning?
Yes. The parent dashboard shows daily and weekly reports of what modules your child worked through, what they enjoyed, and what they got stuck on. Adventurer and Genius plans include deeper analytics.
Does it work offline?
Some content is cached on-device, so basic modules work without a connection. Arlo's AI-powered features need internet to work their best.
How do you handle my child's voice?
When your child speaks to Arlo, the audio is sent to a speech-to-text service (OpenAI Whisper) only to turn their words into text so Arlo can understand and respond. The audio is not stored, we do not create a "voiceprint," and we never use your child's voice to identify them or to train AI. You can delete everything from your parent dashboard at any time.
Privacy Policy.
Effective date: August 6, 2026. Issued by AEkoro LLC, d/b/a BrightKid, a Texas limited liability company.
Plain-language summary: BrightKid is a children's app. We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. We never sell it. We never show ads. Parents control everything, and can delete all data at any time. Children are protected under COPPA.
1. Who we are
BrightKid is operated by AEkoro LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("AEkoro," "we," "our," or "us"). Our registered address is in Texas, United States. You can reach us at support@brightkid.app.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to parents and guardians who create accounts ("Account Holders") and the children under age 13 who use the BrightKid application under parental supervision and consent. If you are a child, please ask a parent or guardian to read this with you.
3. Information we collect
From parents / Account Holders:
- Email address and name (for account creation and login)
- Subscription and purchase records. When you subscribe on an Apple device, payment is handled by Apple through the App Store; on an Android device, by Google through Google Play. We never receive or store your full card number on either platform.
- Notification preferences
About the child (entered by the parent, or generated through use):
- The child's first name, used to personalize the experience so Arlo can greet and speak to your child by name. We do not ask for the child's last name.
- The child's age or age group (set by the parent), used to serve age-appropriate lessons
- Learning activity: modules completed, stars earned, streaks, and progress
- Voice input: when your child speaks to Arlo, the audio is sent to a speech-to-text service for transcription and is not stored; it is not used to train AI, and no voiceprint is created (see Section 6)
- ArloGram photos: uploaded voluntarily by the parent; stored securely in AWS and never shared with third parties
- Learning context (“what Arlo remembers”): an ongoing record that keeps teaching continuous across sessions. This record may reflect things your child says to Arlo during a lesson, not only what you entered when setting up the profile.
We do not collect the child's last name, school, address, phone number, precise location, or any government identifier. We collect only what is needed to provide the learning experience.
4. How we use information
- To provide and personalize the learning experience (including addressing your child by their first name)
- To let Arlo speak with your child (text-to-speech) and understand your child (speech-to-text)
- To generate parent dashboard reports
- To manage your subscription and confirm your entitlements with the app store that processed your purchase
- To send parent notifications (daily/weekly reports, if opted in)
- To keep the service secure and functioning
We do not use children's data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the educational service.
5. COPPA compliance
BrightKid is directed at children under 13, so the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to us in full. Only a parent or guardian can create an account. The parent sets up the account, creates the child's profile, enters the child's information, and consents to this policy before any child data is collected. Children cannot register themselves, make purchases, or contact anyone through the app.
Parents may at any time:
- Review the information collected about their child
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of all data associated with their child or account
- Refuse further collection of their child's information by deleting the account
To review the information we hold about your child, email support@brightkid.app from the address on the account and we will send you a summary. To delete everything, open the app and choose Parent Dashboard → Settings → Delete Account. Requests sent by email are answered within 30 days.
6. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers below, as needed to provide the service:
- OpenAI (speech-to-text): when your child speaks to Arlo, the audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper service to convert speech to text. We do not store the audio at any point. OpenAI retains it on their own systems for a short period (approximately 30 days) for abuse monitoring before deleting it, and does not use it to train their models by default. We do not create or store a voiceprint, and we never use voice to identify who is speaking.
- Anthropic (AI responses by Arlo): to generate Arlo's conversational and teaching responses, we send the child's first name, age, the current conversation, and the ongoing learning context described in Section 3. No advertising profiles are created.
- ElevenLabs (text-to-speech): text is sent to generate Arlo's voice. Your child's name is spoken using a single pre-recorded clip rather than being sent as text on every use. No voice biometrics of your child are created or stored.
- Apple (App Store billing): when you subscribe on an Apple device, your purchase is processed by Apple under its terms and privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
- Google (Google Play billing): when you subscribe on an Android device, your purchase is processed by Google under its terms and privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
- RevenueCat (subscription management): receives your subscription status and an account identifier so your plan stays in sync across devices and app stores. It does not receive your child's data or your payment details.
- Amazon Web Services (infrastructure and authentication): all data is stored in US-based AWS data centers, and parent account credentials are managed by AWS Cognito.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, and we do not keep it indefinitely. Your child's voice audio is never stored by us. We retain account data while your account is active.
When you delete your account, deletion happens immediately. Your child's profiles, session history, learning progress, learning context, first name, ArloGram photos, family photos, and the recording of your child's name in Arlo's voice are all removed at the moment you confirm β not queued for later processing. Your login is removed at the same time, so the account cannot be recovered.
For disaster-recovery purposes we keep encrypted system backups. Deleted information may persist in those backups for up to 7 days before it is permanently purged. Records of subscription payments are held by Apple, Google, and our billing providers under their own terms, and may be retained where tax or accounting law requires it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted file storage for photos and audio, private network isolation for our database, and access controls that restrict each account to its own children's data. Your child's photos are never publicly accessible; the app retrieves them through short-lived, individually authorised links.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your child's personal information, we will notify affected Account Holders by email without undue delay, and will comply with applicable breach-notification laws.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify Account Holders of material changes by email or in-app notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of BrightKid after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Use.
Effective date: August 1, 2026. These terms govern your use of BrightKid, operated by AEkoro LLC.
By creating a BrightKid account you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and any child profiles you create. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
BrightKid is a subscription-based educational application for children ages 1 to 5, operated by AEkoro LLC ("we," "us," "BrightKid"). The app is available on iOS and Android. Access to full features requires an active paid subscription.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are a parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the app, and that you have the authority to consent on their behalf.
3. Subscription plans and billing
BrightKid offers the following auto-renewing subscription plans:
- Explorer (includes a 7-day free trial, then $5.99/month or $47.99/year): 12 learning modules, ages 1 to 5
- Adventurer ($11.99/month or $95.99/year): 24 modules, Say It! speech practice, Ask Arlo text up to 5 times per day
- Genius ($17.99/month or $143.99/year): all modules, Ask Arlo and Talk to Arlo voice up to 15 times per day
How billing works. On Apple devices (iOS/iPadOS), your subscription is purchased and billed through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple ID. Payment is collected by Apple when you confirm the purchase. A free trial, where offered, is applied by Apple; if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and your Apple ID is charged. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Annual plans are billed once per year. All prices are in USD and may vary by region as set by the App Store.
4. Managing, cancelling, and refunds
On Apple devices: manage or cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies; please request refunds directly through Apple.
On Android devices: manage or cancel at any time in the Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google under its policies; please request refunds directly through Google.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Deleting your BrightKid account does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through the store that processed your purchase.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with people outside your household
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or scrape any part of the app or its AI responses
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without written permission
- Circumvent any parental controls, session limits, or access restrictions
- Upload content to ArloGram that violates any applicable law
6. Intellectual property
All content within BrightKid including Arlo's character, voice, curriculum, animations, and software is the property of AEkoro LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
BrightKid is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular educational outcome. AI-generated responses are for educational entertainment and should not be relied upon as professional medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.
8. Limitation of liability
